When you're doing something new and different that has not been tried before or something that people are just not very familiar with, you tend to get a lot of negative feedback and people try to discourage you from continuing to do it. Its just that some people are apprehensive and do not want to take up new challenges and try to discourage others as well.
At sometimes you cannot avoid these people but you can certainly choose how you respond to the negative feedback. You can either give in and give up or continue to believe in yourself. To be successful you've got to believe in what you do and you should use the negative energy to your benefit, and become even more determined to prove those people wrong.
So stop worrying about what other people think and say to you if you know what you are doing is right and truly believe in what you are doing and do your best. :)

I've been looking around for some tool to check the page rank of a page easily and guess what I found.

Popurius a fantastic too that shows you the Google Page Rank, Alexa Page Rank, Complete Rank, Quancast Rank, Google Backlinks, Yahoo Backlinks, Live Search Backlinks, Technorati Links, Delicious Bookmarks and also Bloglines Subscribers. Phew!
Now thats so much info packed into such a small and simple page, that appears so cool even on a mobile.
This tool was created by Xavier Larrea. Unfortunately the website link is just a parked page by GoDaddy.

Well since this is such a fantastic tool I've created a bookmarklet that you can use to check the page rank of the current page on Opera Mini.

Here are the steps to add this bookmarklet:

To save this bookmarklet you'll need to go to add bookmark screen on Opera Mini (shortcut #7 on Opera Mini 4.2 or shortcut #5 on Opera Mini 5 beta and then select add bookmark) and then edit the address as enter it as

javascript:location.href='http://popuri.us/?u='+location.href

and then save it as a bookmark. You may also assign a speed dial shortcut to it. And thats it, you can then use that bookmarklet to check the Ranking of any website you visit.

When I tried to open the attachment yahoo displayed a message "Virus detected" by Norton AntiVirus.
The sender's address appears to be genuine, doesn't it? Yet it isn't safe. If it wasn't for the AntiVirus program! *faints*
You've got to be careful when opening email attachments.
BTW has anyone of you received this mail?

Which mobile browser do you use?

I'm surfing on a smartphone (Nokia N79) and due lack of 3G network or wifi I have to depend on using a proxy browser. I'm using Opera Mini and its pretty good. The page rendering is nice and thanks to the page compression I don't have to wait for a long time for the pages to load.
Its pretty cool to be able to access the web and have the information you need, when you need it. I don't have a PC at the moment. I had one but there was some problem with it and it has not been fixed, so I'm only using my mobile. I've got a fixed rate unlimited usage data plan from Aircel so I'm online whenever I'm free. And with the time I've spent online I think the best mobile browser you can get is Opera Mini. Try it. You won't regret it.

Random Ramblings is now Do Follow

I've installed the Comment Luv plugin on my blog because I think its really cool and it allows you to add a link to your last post in the comments. This I thought has two major benefits, firstly other readers can see you the link to your then last post and thus you can get visitors to your blog and secondly it helps you to build backlinks to your blog.
I was very happy about it until I noticed, while moderating a comment, that there was a no follow tag attached to the link. Apparently Wordpress automatically adds no follow tags to links in comments. Its not really a big deal, but I thought that the Comment Luv links were extremely useful to my commentators so I was slightly disappointed.
I've now installed Lucia's Linky Love plugin that removes the no follow tag from the comment links. Also it lets you can set a threshold for the number of comments from a commentator before the no follow tags are removed from the comments for new commentator. I would encourage you to install the plugin too if you really want to share the Link Luv . :-)

I'm Flying

Yes! I finally decided that its time. I'm hosting this blog on BlueHost . I got a fairly good deal, $4.95/month for a 12 month plan with unlimited space and bandwidth. Sounds cool, doesn't it?
I had a bit of a trouble installing wordpress but managed to get through fine with some live chat support. I had to use Opera Mobile 8.65 to be able to use live chat 'cos all versions of Opera Mini don't with live chat. There is some error in the Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 which kept changing the text I typed into gibberish so I had to fall back on Opera Mobile 8.65.
Finally with wordpress installed I was able to view the blog in Opera Mobile, Opera Mini 3, but Opera Mini 4.2 and 5 beta 2 kept displaying an error message that page cannot be located. Finally late in the night Opera Mini 4.2 was able to load the page nicely.
After all this was done I wanted to install some plugins but I kept getting errors with the installation and had to find my api key from wordpress.com. Finally I've managed to install some plugins today and have also installed the pixels theme. Its been a very busy weekend. How was your weekend?

Blogging Goals

This article is written for the Word Challenge on Blog engage.
Blogging Goals
As you already know this is a pretty new blog. I've recently registered this domain and I'm hosting it on blogetery.com for free.
My goal for now is to interact with a lot of people on the internet. I've earlier been blogging on My Opera which is an excellent community and that has pampered me to the extent that its difficult to find interesting content. I want to explore the open internet and interact with people that this new blog and not be limited to any boundaries.
Also I want to promote this blog with useful content that keeps people coming back repeatedly. In time as the blog popularity increases I would consider hosting it as a self hosted blog so I can customise the blog and add useful plug ins.
I would like to add that hosting this blog on blogetery has been a piece of cake, No trouble at all. And I'm really starting to like Wordpress. I wish the support team was more responsive though. I say this because a ticket I had raised last month has not received any attention yet. I guess I just have to bear with this till I can get my wings and fly.

3 Idiots

I've seen 3 Idiots recently. Its a wonderful movie and every student must watch it. The movie is about 2 friends searching for their 3rd friend who had changed their life.
During the journey they recall their friendship and the time spent together. Its a wonderful adventure. It teaches an important lesson that one should not study merely for grades, its the knowledge that you gain that is of value and not just the certificate. It says Choose Excellence - Success will Follow. Also it emphasises that you should follow your dreams and not give up due to peer or parental pressure.
Also another important lesson from the movie is that you shouldn't give up and console yourself by saying "Aal izz Well".
I can't describe the movie here, it just wont do it justice. You've got to watch it.
