A lesson I've learnt

I've always been reaching work just in time or a bit late recently. Well I haven't been too late luckily, but reaching just in time or even a few minutes late is frowned upon at my place of work.

Travelling to work is quite a chore for me. It takes me more than an hour to reach work. No kidding! I have to walk to the train station which takes about 20 minutes. And then another 30 minutes by train and about 15-20 minutes from the train station to my office by an auto rickshaw.

The final leg of the journey is the most annoying. Its really hard to convince the rickshaw drivers to agree to go to where you want to go. They're always scouting for a long distance passenger so they can get a higher fare and don't want to take on any short distance fares. Its really annoying. I try to be good and ask people going my way if they'd like to hop in with me, if I can spot someone I know, even if they're standing there like they haven't noticed me.

Yesterday was yet another day when I was fairly late and if I had to spend time scouting for a rickshaw, I would surely be late. But luckily a colleague spotted me and I shared the ride with him. We split the fare. So it was really a win-win situation for both of us. It really nice that this habit is catching on. :)

I guess the saying "What you give, is what you get" is really true. Have you had any similar experience?

Is 2012 for real?

I'm sure you've heard about the following events.

• Haiti Earthquake


• Earthquake in Chile


• Earthquake in China


• A Volcanic eruption in Iceland

My curiosity about our planet has increased recently, I guess its a consequence of watching the movie 2012. In the movie scientists discover increased underground activity before the world is about to end.

It seems very scary to imagine our planet being destroyed. I hope it does not happen and our human race continues to grow and prosper for centuries to come. But we really have to step up our efforts to colonize other planets if we don't want to be wiped out.

Free Audio Books

Don't you love stories? I like reading, but sometimes I just feel lazy, or I'm too tired. That's when I like listening to stories. When I was a kid my grandmother told me stories. I can hardly recall any of them but I remember sitting by her side and listening as she told my brother and me some fantastic stories.

How I promote my blog posts?

Promoting your blog posts is an integral part of the blogging process. You cannot just write great posts and hope that the world will find your content and be benefited by it. Even if you find out the answer to the greatest question and post a blog about it, no one will know about it unless you promote the post and draw the attention of the readers.
